Well I'm applying for college soon and I could use some advice from someone whose "been there, done that". Could someone just explain the basics for me, like everything in general I might need to know.(student loans, room and board etc.) I know it's pretty general but I need advice about pretty much everything, so anything you could tell me would be a big help.
Applying for college soon. Help please!?!?!?Apply: apply to 8-10 colleges and make sure that all of them are places you can see yourself going.
You should try 1-2 "reach schools" (the best school that you think might have even the slightest chance of accepting you)
2-3 "safe schools"(schools you know that you can for sure get in) and the rest "good match schools"(schools were you seam to fit perfectly).
Loans:stay away from it as much as you can! go to the school that gives you the most aid. NO LOANS!!!!
Room and Board/location of school: You should let the city or the dorms choose your school for you. Also most freshmen are required to live in dorms in the first year(in some schools it's second too).

Help please!?!?!?what ever you do stay away from loans. and as soon as you get in start studying. 85% of new freshmen end up on academic prohbation at the end of their first semester. and go somewhere where you know you want to stay for four years and be prepared to stay there for more if you have to. Apply for all the finacial aid you can get. Good luck. oh yeah, living on campus is fun but be prepared for bills.
