If my school was 25k a year, tuition being 15k, what would be ways to not get into so much debt? For some add. info, there is no family contribution (yet fasfa says otherwise and I am not eligible for any grants), I have no scholarships from the schools, am applying for private scholarships that I see but so far no luck, and the only option I see to pay this 25k is loans. If I am taking 15 credit hours, I can only work so much, either that or work full time and but then cut school in half-although the point (for me) is to actually graduate, and working part time is obviously not going to cover the 25k-maybe living expenses if that. (I do not intend on joining the military btw...) but do you have any ideas on how to lighten the loan load? How in the world does someone fund a 25k year education w/o significant help? I have no problem funding my own education-I'll happily do so; I just would like to know how this will be possible? What are some ways? Thanks in advance!
For all of you who say it's possible to graduate college without debt (or fund one's own education)? You know, many people talk about this topic and it is possible. When I was a student...I worked two jobs...full time school (4-5 classes a semester) and a wife and 2 kids at home that wanted all of my time so I could not study at home. Here is what I did....
I worked for the school, full time in financial aid. I also worked on the weekends...at a hotel...doing the night audit. If you don't know about the audit shift...8 hour shift from 11pm-7am...spend about an hour working and the rest of the time studying. It worked for me. I still got my rest and was able to study at school. In regards to my payload...4 to 5 classes a semester...I did a few of them online. Basically...I picked one or two classes a semester that were extremely difficult and the rest easier classes. Going online..my assignments were due weekly...so I would save the assignments to a disk and submit weekly as the deadlines approached. This gave me time to focus on the harder classes that I did on campus.
