What should I do? I am a 34-year-old woman who has finally figured out 鈥渨hat I want to be when I grow up.鈥?Now that I have had that epiphany and I know how I would like to spend the rest of my working years, I cannot find funding to go back to school! What should I do? I am at a loss. Here are just a few reasons that I have been given for why I can鈥檛 be given financial help: I am too old/young to qualify, I鈥檓 not disabled or addicted to any kind of illegal substance, I鈥檓 not an abused woman, I don鈥檛 have any kids. When I don鈥檛 qualify for the help that I鈥檓 applying for, then I am asked: don鈥檛 you have any friends/relatives you can barrow from or how about using your home as collateral (when I tell them I live paycheck to paycheck and don鈥檛 own a home they become speechless). If it was as simple as getting a loan I would have done that by now. Because I have a bankruptcy in my history, it doesn鈥檛 seem to matter to anyone that I am more than willing to pay back a loan. This of course will be much easier once I am making more than minimum wage. Can you please put me in contact with some one that can help me or give me some advice on what to do? I just want to make a better life for myself by getting a degree, which will enable me to obtain a much better job in the health care industry.
