Law school is expensive, but do the math. How much do you project to make in a corporate firm? There is a high pay off and it is usually at a low interest. Besides the financial advantages to getting a JD, there is also the intellectual challenge. It will cost you now, but pay later. If you are a very promising student, there may also be scholarship available.

Should I worry about being in debt?After spending 6 years getting college degrees (BS and MS) some of it financed with loans I had to pay back, I'd say yes! Worry! In fact, I would encourage you to check with a trade union about an apprenticeship instead. With an apprenticeship program you earn while you learn, you don't pay out.
In my case, I spent 6 years learning a very difficult skill while spending what would have been a good income at the time. So by comparision, by the time I graduated, I was 2x6years behind someone who had taken a skilled trade occupation.
To add insult to this injury the wealthy in this nation have conspired to encourge H1-B visa immigation enmasse to suppress wages in my profession. At this point, I am a few years from retirement age, and probably won't be able to retire. Unsubsidised higher education is a waste.
