The army is the largest and most bureaucratic branch of military service, but that doesn't always mean, the best. Whatever branch you decide and are accepted to, will take the time to evaluate you and train you in the job you are best suited to do.
Since you have never experienced military life, I would urge you to be more reserved in your life long commitment thing, at least until you have had a taste of this life.
