If you want a real challenge check out christian endeavors. They are more humanitarian than any miltary branch. And you can quit them anytime. If you still feel led to go in the military, then go navy or air force. They are the highest paid and you have an opportunity for advancement as well as learn a trade. They may not have anything you are looking for in your field but I am sure they have a closely related field. Sounds like the Chaplaincy Corp just might do it.
What military branch should I join?Please don't be fooled into thinking that the military is the best way to serve those in need. As a former aid worker myself, I see that militaries always create more damage in the community than they fix - despite their best restorative efforts.
Consider instead something which helps you to benefit the community DIRECTLY - instead of something that's involved in war and defense. The military draws people who either are interested SPECIFICALLY in defense and that sort of life, OR people who are desperate to repay loans and need a hand up. Unforunately these latter ones often get sent to places they'd rather not go, sorry to say.
Put your desires first - and know that the military will always be there for you if you feel strongly about entering it.
