I'm an active duty military member serving in the state of Alaska. I have a former acquaintance that I purchased a vehicle with several years ago in AZ, where I had previously resided. She and the vehicle are in Phoenix, AZ. She is defaulting on her(our) auto loan and may be purposely hiding the vehicle inside the garage. The home of the garage is a home that is possibly up for sale by a realtor. I don't have any information other than the address of this location. The vehicle's registration is not current and may not be currently insured. The lender and repossession agency has an active case open on this vehicle. This former acquaintance has refused contact with the lender, the repossession agency, and myself. Because of my remote location, I am relying on the repossession agent to take the vehicle. I would then like to travel to AZ, take possession of the vehicle, and continue making payments. The acquaintance would no longer have possession of the vehicle. I would not require her to have any financial obligation between us. I will soley take over.
Do I have a good case to a hire a lawyer?Instead of waiting to go to AZ take a hop (c-130) and make an appointment for a viewing of the property. Tell the realtor you need to inspect the garage because you have a large SUV and want to insure it is big enough.
have the repo guy standing by about a block away. Once you enter the garage (and have the realtor test the garage door) validate that the car is actually yours then call the repo guy and have him come get the car.
