I live in san diego and new to auto loans, this is a quote from a local credit union. I have great credit (at least mid 700s) but not an impressive job. looking for 10-15000. Anyone know any good sources, i wanted to try lending tree but didnt want to take a hit to my credit score esp. if i didnt get a good rate. thanks much

Thats a good interest rate the auto loan rates have been going up since august 2007. And being financed by a credit union is much better than going with other financial insitution. Dont let the car dealerships run your credit because they will send your ssn to 3 to 4 banks that will run your credit report and you will be hit on your credit from those banks. And find out what else the credit union can offer you on your auto loan, etc GAP insurance & Extended warranty. Most likely they will have they same thing the dealerships offer and you will PAYLESS buying those from the credit union.

Happy shopping!
