she owned her home for sevens prior to meeting me. she wanted to re-fi her home on her own. she could not because of bad credit and lack of income at the time. She ask me to be on the loan with her, because she loved me and this would be something that we were purchasing together in spirit of love. she also had hit a bad point professionally, quit her job twice I still stood by her!! So, we re-finance the house in both our names and with both listed as joint tenants with both rights of survivorship in the state of CA. I am first on the deed/title and on the bank loan. The house has since caught on fire, they are going to gut the entire house and rebuild it. I am now currently unemployed, no cash. Property ins. check came in her name. Will the judge take everthing back from me and give back to her? Do i stand in chance to gain financially during the rebuild if the upgrades causes the property to go up in value? we cannot live in that house for 6 months or until it is completed
Boy meets girl. they fall in love. she was in foreclosure agreement when we began dating? The bank needs the money first.
Boy meets girl. they fall in love. she was in foreclosure agreement when we began dating?Sounds like the house is both of yours, so yeah you would gain. Assuming you can keep paying for it.
The insurance must not have been put in both names. They shouldn't be sending you the money for the house fixup, it would only be money to live on while you wait for the house to be completed. You will need to keep making payments I think, better get another job asap.
I don't see where you mention a break up but from what you are concerned with it sounds like there is one and that is why you are worried? Why is a judge involved?
