Cell phones. Drop them. What's it costing you, $59 a month?
Coffee and bottled water. Seriously, do you need to pay for coffee and water? We are talking around $5-$10 a day here, somewhere in the realm of $200+ a month.
High speed internet. Go dial up, or go to the library.
Buy store brands. Seriously, do you really think your kids will know the difference between the store brand cereal and Kelloggs? My mom used to buy the store brand and refill the Kelloggs box, we never knew.
Sell anything that you can get a good price for.
Also, call you mortgage bank, and talk to them. Call your personal loan bank and talk to them. Lock up the credit cards, and live on cash. If you do not have the cash, you cannot afford the item.
This is going to hurt. A lot.
But, it needs to be done.

If your wife works now then I am assuming that she worked last year too...if you file taxes together, she can file 'INJURED SPOUSE". This will protect the part of the refund that was 'hers'. 6 people on the return should give you a very large refund. Go and have your taxes figured out NOW...go to walmart and have them do it there.THIS might give you a few bucks to breathe.
YOu stated that things were not this bad prior to your marriage. Is your wife getting support for her four children. If not, NOW is the time that she needs to file for them.
