feel the way I do about credit cards? I'm very close to 50yrs old, so, many moons ago people were taught that credit cards were a LOAN! It will be a rainy day in hell when I have to get a bank loan for gas money for work. I can see it if it's for business purposes, but stand in line at the gas station, people are buying a truckload of junk-food and gas, putting it on a card. I also believe that (other than on-line) it should be against the law for businesses to not accept cash as an alternate. They should not be able to force you into a loan for a transaction. It is a form of prejudice that has become rediculously accepted in our culture. Am I alone on this? Best common sense answer gets the points.
How many of you.......?Give your decision, never your reason. Your decision may be right, your reasons are sure to wrong.
How many of you.......?I only use a debit card. That way I only get charged what I pay for, not interest. I also can`t spend more than I have, so I don`t go in debt with it.
How many of you.......?Many of those people at the pump are using debit, not credit cards. When you use a debit card, it comes right out of your checking account. Debit cards (some at least) do have the Visa or MasterCard logo - this is a convenience for customers, as they can use their debit card at any place where Visa or MasterCard are accepted.
Businesses who do not accept cash as payment are doing it for your protection, and theirs. Using a card gives each of you a record and receipt of the transaction. For instance, you would not dream of mailing in a bill with cash in the envelope, right? You want to know that your bill was actually paid, not that someone pocketed the money.
