I have a business background in this area. I note that reference is made to CAB - their fine and in turn will refer you to Payplan who are also mentioned in the thread. Alot will depend on if any of your debt is secured on property or vehicles. If all unsecured they will put you onto a debt management programme.

I will hereby talk from my personal experience.
I did debt consolidation a couple of years ago, however If I had to do it again I would pay to some minor details,
