You are too young, haven't been working long enough, haven't been driving long enough & make too little. Anyone who would loan to you would be a predator. You need not only the signature of the co-signer but also the experience. If you are an unusual 18 year old, you will seek the counsel of your co-signer so you can quickly build your own credit history and become completely independent.

Any loan you might qualify for will have an extremely high interest rate, which will end up costing you a lot.

CJ is right. I made my 1st student loan payment before the billing started and now I have a negative item on my credit report & my ins. went up $40 a month because of this. I'm disputing it though.
