yes it happens every day,the adult will be held liable though should the 17 year old not make a payment,but yes you can co-sign with them on a loan,good luck.

Remember, anyone under 18 cannot legally sign a contact. The note for the debt is a contract - so a 17 year olds signature on that note would not carry any weight with the lender.
