What to choose for buying used, 04 Lancer and 03 Galant?

I'm looking to get a new car (new to me) and I've narrowed it down to an 04 Lancer and an 03 Galant in my area.
Galant has ~3000 less miles on it, ~20 more hp, and is $1900 cheaper, but gets 6 mpg less (on average), which would cost ~$477 more in gas every year. Considering that I'll have a 6 or 7 year loan as well, the Lancer would earn that price difference back in gas savings in just over 4 years (including interest).
Any other insight or suggestions, perhaps from personal ownership or anything else? I definitely like how the Lancer looks though ;-)

At every 60,000 mile interval you will need a major tune up and timing belt. Do the water pump too if it's at 120,000 miles. Is the Galant a 6 cylinder that needs premium gas?

Paying all that money in interest for an older car. Just get a shorter loan where in your monthly payment is something that you can afford.
