What info can employers find out about you when doing a background check? I am sure criminal activity (if any), but what else? College transcript, credit rating, etc. Does anyone know?
Background Check?Anything! They can get character (personal) references, professional references and perfomrance reviews, school transcripts, criminal record, driving abstract, FINANICIAL reports (credit rating etc). The last one is the scariest methinks.
Background Check?Every company does a background check for different things, but they have to tell you what they are checking for. on just the basic checks they can only receive your criminal history (if any) and if they want a credit check, you have to sign a different paper.

Background Check?I'm pretty sure that they can't get your college transcript without contacting your university. Background check will show criminal activity, where you live, any people affiliated with you (roommates), neighbors, property value, divorce decrees, if you are married etc.
Credit checks are different. You need a ssn and at least in my state, permission from the person.
