applied at dealership two weeks ago for truck, credit score was 650, dealer wanted to put me in new truck but I preferred to wait because I did not want two high payments. today i applied at a closer dealership because they had the truck I liked, they told me my credit score was 497 and my interest would be 24%, so my question is was this dealership trying to get me or can your credit score really drop by 120 points in two weeks. I have not applied for anything else and my credit is good. Not perfect but good.Everything is up to current status. The first dealer ship was trying to put me in a new truck and said my interest rate would be low with my credit. But this second dealership two weeks later which is not a major dealership like the first, they tried telling me my score was 497 and therefore my interest rate would be 24%. I think they were trying to screw me over. Can someone else give me a second opinion.

I think this second dealership trying to get there money thru your financing. Go to different dealership if they will tell you same score, ask a copy of report. And you have to remember, that they making commission on your loan, the higher %, the higher commision.
Try to ask the bank were you banking, what there interest on new car financing. With your credit score you should get around 7%. Good Luck!
