When I was was 19 I had my car repossed, stupid kid stuff. Now, I am responsible and paying everything on time. The only major thing is that repo.
It happened over 7 years ago and the company is saying it was repoed in 2002.
I have put in request to have this remove but I need evidence. How can I go about finding out the plate or any other info proving that the car has been resold. I have no info on the car, I threw away everything being it was over seven years. And yes I tried the DMV to no avail. Thanks for any help.
Credit report? If you remember the name of the Company that you owed the money to, you could ask them to write a letter to the 3 reporting agenceies, make 3 copies, to remove the negative from your history. Otherwise it should have been removed after 7 full years, though since Republicans have changed the bankruptcy laws it's entirely possible they may have thrown in a ryder that doesn't allow the 7 year removal anymore.
Or you could get a fresh free credit report if you are really sure about the exact 7 yr date.If you don't know the name of the Company, then follow the instructions in the following article, reading down to 'If Changes Aren't Made'
