Budgetting problems?
The key to financial power lies in your credit rating. If you plan to get a home loan, save money and get better credit starting now!
I've been on a minimum wage for my qualifications (i.e working in a low paying job altho have a degree but its the experience i want) and can't seem to save. I needed a new car so bought a brand new one and pay a loan every week but its not a huge part of my wage. after i put aside money for bills, pay my rent, pay off some of my credit card i needed for an emergency at uni and keep some aside for the groceries, i have only about 20 dollars to save up. I put that aside but always seem to end up borrowing from my savings account anyway. i work shift work so on public holidays pick up extra penalty rates and also pick up extra shifts and that money pretty much goes toward household things i really need or birthdays presents etc, never to just save. What are some suggestions for better budgetting so i can save more without starving?!! I am starting a new job in the same sort of field and only part time but i wont pick up shifts like i was. i am stressing. what can i do to get ahead?
Budgetting problems?Start with your fixed monthly expenses - car payments, rent, food, utilities, etc. Next itemize other expenses which you incur from time to time. How much do they amount to compared to your income? You might have to forgo some expenses which you can do without.
Your credit card is your worst enemy if you are trying to save. A credit card should be used for emergency purposes only. If you use it to buy your groceries, shopping and entertainment you will most likely go over budget. I hope this helps.
