I want to make a suggestion to our high school orchestra director for this particular piece of music...

This music was composed by Dean Marshall for an all violin group called Barrage (who are absolutely delightful). It has been made into a string arrangment by Arthur Bachmann (a violist for The Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra). http://tinyurl.com/3coswr
As a piece of music coming from an all violist group I'm concerned with how the string arrangment carries out the lower strings. As you can see in the video the song is carried out along with a guitar, and I'm wondering how this is transposed to the orchestral arrangment. I'm mostly concerned with having variety... a clear harmony and a melody which are both challenging and exciting (possibly exchanged between the strings).
If anyone has experience with this string arrangment could you please rate your experience with it, and the overall sound of the orchestra.
Thanks for your input
Barrage: Mountain Spring - String Orchestra Arrangment... Need a review?I played that one two years ago with my high school orchestra. The guitar solos are primarily replaced by the cellos which I think makes the piece even richer. It's absolutely excellent. DEFINITELY recommend it.
