We got a quote of $250/hour from someone and that seems to steep, so I wondered what the going rate is for an IT person of this skill level.
These don鈥檛 need to have the exact skills outlined below, but someone is that realm (i.e. not a basic pc helpdesk guy).

You need to know a ton more that that just to make 50k a year here in NY. Add MCSE , MCP, SQL, Novell, Notes Domino, UNix and Linux and a BA in computer science, and then you can look tio make 50k+ a year.

I should know because I am in this business and depending on the complexity and nature of the project, I can charge as much as $300/hr for my services.
