Do employers honor degrees from University of Phoenix and Devry like a degree from atraditional coll

It goes way beyond issues of accreditation with these two schools, and it's all about their reputation with employers. Now, some employers could care less - so long as you have a degree, they don't care where it was from, so long as the place wasn't literally a diploma mill. However, U of Phoenix and Devry (and ITT, and Strayer, and Kaplan, and...) are famous for being poor quality schools. Rightly or wrongly (in my opinion, rightly), this is how some employers see them. There are now enough employers who literally will not look at a degree from U of P or Devry that I can not, in good faith, recommend that you go there. It will be too limiting to your future job prospects. As an employer, I'd rather you attend Joe Blow State College than U of Phoenix.
In addition, many reputable graduate schools will not accept you, because of where you'd gone for undergrad. And transfer of credits to another school, should you choose to later change your undergrad school, is quite difficult, again due to concerns about the quality of education and certain accreditation issues.
If U of P and Devry are your only options, and you really want IT/Database Management, go for Devry. It has a better rep for tech than U of P does, but again, that doesn't mean that some employers won't frown on Devry. But fewer will frown on Devry, in this particular field, than on U of P. And if these are really your only two options, do IT and do Devry. Don't do finance in either place. That'll be a dead-end.
