You are right you need to make changes for yourself. First thing, stop using your credit card. It is hard to get rid of credit card debt when you are still adding to it. Only shop when you need things and use a list. Do other things. The budget book will be your starting point. It will give you some ideas on where to look and control. A budget should be your tool. Get rid of the student loan and credit card debt so you can start saving. At work take advantage of a 401k plan if you have one. If you do, your employer will contribute some money as well.
