It tells you on the DVD case if the films are on double layered (or dual layered discs). And sometimes, for reasons unknown to me but I understand, the laser does not realign itself to pick up the next layer!
Sometimes the picture freezes when the DVD player gets too hot - I have had this loads of times. Switched off and left for a while and gone back and it has been fine! Or it could be a fine surface scratch and the laser locks onto it and can't move past a certain point!
Refusing to play I have only had happen once or twice and I just cleaned the disc and it was OK after that!
I NEVER LOAN OUT my DVD's - scumbags neverlook after what is not theirs!
