I own a mortgage company and have several loan officers...when I first started the company I designed a logo and business card and everyone has the same design. Now, I am really wanting to design a more unique business card with the person's picture on it...my question is - Does everyone need to have the same card throughout the company (w/ their picture) or is it ok to have some loan officers using the old card design and some using the new one. Also, I have a girl that is pretty different and wants to have several different designs for herself. Everything that I have read about marketing talks about brand recognition, and I am not sure if different designs defeats that purpose. Please help!!
Business Cards for employees? You are in the process of re-branding so I guess that it is OK to have some using the old and some using the new (w/pictures) business card. This would safe you some money. However, if you want to have a consistent look for the business with the introduction of the new logo, then you might want to have everyone using the new cards. However, you should NOT let individuals design their own business cards as it would not maximize the brand recognition that your business needs.
Business Cards for employees? In my experience, business cards are representative of the company, not the individual tastes of the employees. This promotes brand recognition and (ideally) that a customer can expect the same level of service from any employee that deals with the public. This could also prove an unwanted distraction from getting on with the important stuff - lending money.
Business Cards for employees? You can't sail a ship without a captain and you can't run a company without a leader. You own the company and you must not allow your employees pull you in all sorts of directions. Make the decision and stick to it. There's nothing worse than an indecisive boss.
