I purchased a vehicle from a used car lot, 0 down and with an writen agreement that a minimum of $200 a month must be paid. I purchased it 2 weeks ago. I have the car insured and the car lot had me sign the title and wrote his name as the lein holder. I later found out that he doesnt posses a lisence to deal vehicles. He showed up at my house and tried to take my car, I called the cops and he left. The officer was not sure whether this was a civil or criminal matter. There was no loan taken out on the purchase therefor no banks or loan agencies are inolved. I am wondering if I should speak with a lawyer before making my first payment and if he can legally take possesion or repo the car?

You will need a lawyer for this from the sound of it. If he just takes the car back without process of law, he could be criminally libel for auto theft depending on whatever contract you signed and if the contract is even legal.
