you sound sencible to me,if you and your husban agree this is what you want at this time in your life then go for it.parents feel they are looking out for your well fair, but your out of the nest and your an adult if your in agreement theres no time like the present.have them young enjoy them longer.
Help! Need advice?Your mom thinks she has your best interests at heart, but you are now married, have been to college, and have a great job. Congratulations on all of your accomplishments.
Now, as to not insult your mom, thank her for the advise but explain that you and your husband together make the decisions for your family and it has worked out well,so you the both of your will continue to do so. Repeat variations of this each time your parents give "advise" (unless your have asked) Eventually, they will take the hint.
Help! Need advice?sounds to me like you're looking for people to tell you what to do. Isn't this what you just said you had a problem with, people 'controling' you? Just from your language and what you chose to share here, I'd say hang on untill you have yourself figured out. The last thing this world needs is another divorced 20 year old crapping out kids they can't take care of properly. Your own parents don't trust you to make a simple decision about purchasing a pet, this does not bode well towards your future parenting skills as they know you pretty darn well.
