I just received my B.S. in Business Administration last month. I just got a job as a customer service rep, but it doesn't pay me what I am truly worth. When I was in college, I interned for an accounting firm and a loan officer, but only as an assistant. I also worked for Enterprise Rent-A-Car as a summer intern and I learned a lot there. I have tried almost every job search engine, but I have not had any luck so far. Does anyone have any sugesstions on what type of job I should look for with my qualifications? I'd appreciate any assistance. Thanks!
Recent college grad looking for a new job?Job hunting isn't that fun. Search engines, while good tools aren't the whole picture.
There are several strategies. One is the old fashioned paper. Most newspapers have on-line advertisements, but some only have partial listings. Subscribing to your local paper is essential for job hunting.
The next is to look for job postings on company websites. Sometimes these listings are national, sometimes local. Most companies have accounting departments.
Make sure that your resume style suits your experience and accomplishments in the best light. It should be neat, and informative. Make sure it is free of typos. Make sure that it's not all over the place with inconsistent fonts and font sizes. It should be professional and easy to read.
Some companies really desire recent grads, while others do not. You will not know until you start interviewing.
