PRBC was mentioned above, but I wanted to add on because it really could help you and your fiance. PRBC is a national credit bureau - similar to Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion. However, PRBC offers some major differences - the most important is that you can build a credit file using non-debt payments you've made (i.e., rent, phone, cable, electric, daycare, utilities, insurance, etc.) These types of bill payments aren't reported to the other bureaus unless your payments are late or missed!

Other differences:

1) Anyone can choose to sign themselves up. You don't have "have credit to get credit."

2) You can self-report your own payments.

3) You can look at your file any time you want, and as much as you want - for free.
