How many accounts you have open has nothing to do with your score for the most part.

Until those negative remarks drop off your report, which ussualy takes 7 years, your score is going to suffer. I would bet if you keep paying bills ontime, your score will be push 600 within a couple of years. But it will take alot longer to get that score up into the high score range...
