my wife & I applied for a second mortgage of $10,000. and were told the loan was approved. no problem. A few days later we were told there was something questionable on my wifes credit report. we corrected that problem and were again told we were approved.a few days later we were told our home was appraised (no one ever came in the house to look) and it appraised $5000. less than when we bought the house 10 years ago. We've made tons of improvements...Something sounds fishy to me. Thanks for any suggestions

Go online and search for your countys goverment page. From there look for the board of mortgage professionals. If you have anything in writing, file a complaint. The people that might have pulled a fast one on you might depend on you and your wife being frustrated and droppiung the hole thing. So keep pushing. Example, goto www.myflorida.com and do a search for mortgage broker and ead all of the horrible stories. Either way, good luck.
