I've own and operated a small Cyber cafe in Toronto for 5 years now...but business has slow down dramatically since last November.
I'm covering my cost with a business loan and can not keep this up....I'm thinking of adding more services or doing something on the side...as of right now I just the basic internet, word processing...cd/dvd burning..copying, scanning, gaming and faxing. As well some F&B services.
Any ideas to pick up my business will be great!
Any Ideas or Suggestions will really help?Oh man, sorry to hear about your troubles. Since I'm not a Cyber Cafe specialist, my thought process might sound elementary to you.
First, do some hard learning to determine which of the following is more true:
(1) The market is still there, but you are losing to the competition
or
(2) Your market is shrinking (due rising adoption of broadband internet at home)
If the answer is #2, then understand that you are bracing for a harder fight for lower revenues. You'll have to ask yourself whether it's worth it.
I doubt cyber cafe users are interested in faxing/scanning services.
If you think you are in a market worth fighting for, then ask yourself why your customers are coming, and whether your services have met their expectations. Have you made it a habit to ask your customers for their feedback? A simple "how was everything?" at the time they are paying should suffice.
