Do I need a realtor?You can do it your way, but I suggest you get a relator & shop around for loans!!! Remember this is the most important purchase in your life & you are not as experienced as are realtors in this long & complicated process. Here are a few tips:
1. If you are a 1st time home buyer, see if your state or county/city has a 1st time home buyers program. These programs offer excellent interest rates up to 1% below market rates - which is awesome & will save you A LOT of $$ in the long run. You can find these programs online thru internet search engines.
2. You want to shop around for loans b/c although you may think that you are getting a good deal, you may always find something better, esp. if you do the first time homebuyers programs. I suggest you talk to at least 2-3 lenders & get pre-approved before making a decision on which loan to get. I also suggest you get a 30 yr. fixed loan & not a ARM (Adjustable rate mortgage) b/c the interest rates can go up & down, which means higher payments!!! Also don't suggest interest only loans b/c you do not gain equity in the home as quickly as you would with a fixed rate loan.
