My dad is planning on buying a home in brooklyn ny and he does not want to spend more than $400,000 on a 2 family home with a finished basement. He has excellent credit and is not currently working but when he was, he was making about $60,000 a year. He is in a union so he just waiting to go back to work. Will he be approved for a loan for the house if he is not working? He plans on putting $30,000 for a down payment. How much(estimating) would the monthly mortgage be?
