We live in a small, rural community, and i have had this dream since i was preggers with my first child. I have put a lot of thought and planning into my products, but i have no idea what else i would need to do. I work in the "office" field, so I have a good idea of that dept.
Has anyone else opened a candle shop? Was it worth it? I see lots of online stores. Id rather have a cute physical store...
Anyways, any success stories? I would eventually have to quit my job to run the store...
How much should i get a loan for? Any other business adivce would be welcome.. Thanks!
My dream is to open a candle shop.....?I think the best way to go into business for yourself is to slowly ease into it. This benefits you because you can test the waters without making too much time or financial commitment.
My suggestion is that you begin making the candles from home (don't quit your day job yet!) and then give them to people and ask for referrals. You may also be able to sell them in local stores. If you have a good product and a good market, it will build on itself until you can eventually open up the shop of your dreams. Just be sure to make smart decisions and try not to get in over your head.
