I am researching starting a beauty supply store online (along with other services). I am developing a business plan; however, figuring out how to get the money I need to purchase inventory mentioned above is a challenge for me. When it come to buying hair extension products a lot of it is sold from Asia, so now we're talking international as well if I went to get it from the source. I can buy domestically also, but I'm unaware of how to go about it and the standards and practices of buying in bulk or buying wholesale. Fortunately, I do have a background in logistics and customer service, so selling it once I get it will not be an issue. I'm not confident that I can get a business loan to help me purchase inventory. What can I do. Thanks in advance

I have no idea myself, but I would highly recommend doing some Google searches, because there are certain to be some excellent articles on the topic. :) Good luck with it! And don't be afraid to start small if needed.

Also, do a search and see how many sites you can find that do the same thing, just to make sure you aren't jumping into an overly crowded market.

That can make things difficult, because then you may not get enough customers to pay for the inventory you bought. Also, make sure you have Google Checkout as a payment option, so that it's sooo much easier to pay for things without having to sign up and create a whole account. I know creating an account just to buy 1 thing is a huge turn-off for me, and stops me from shopping at a wide variety of online places.
