I got caught in the payday loan scam. I needed money to pay bills and before i new it i was getting loans to pay back other loans. They were taking money out my account and the bank ended up closing my account. It has been 2 years and this man calls me threatening to send a detective to take me to jail for bank fraud. I told him i would make arrangement tos pay the bill but he said i had to pay the full amount. He will not send to me in writing how much is owed. When i called the number back they don't even say what company it is. What should i do? He said if i don't pay by Wednesday they will send someone to arrest me in front of my family or at my job.

Reputable banks and companies will usually send you something in writing in order to try to obtain payment. Many will work out payment arrangements with you; this way if it goes to Court, they can prove due diligence in collecting a debt. I would call and make a police report for harrassment and possible fraud... Contact a nonprofit credit counseling agency. they may be able to help you.
