Can they send me to jail?Did you write checks for this payday loan company to "hold" for a week? And did these checks bounce? Technically the payday loan company might be able to press bad check charges. But I'd think they would have done so long before now. The payday loan company probably charged off your debt about 90 days after you defaulted.
You have a hard core collection agency calling you. They are using scare tactics to get as much out of you as they can squeeze. Tell them you want verification of the debt, including a detailed statement.
