I don't want to take out a payday loan. I was wondering if there were any credit card companies that extended emergency loans (not line increases) that were instantly available as a line of credit. Does anyone know of one?

If you have been paying the account on time for over 6 months and "more than the minimum" they will usually approve a credit line increase. Many banks have a 6 month rotation where you become eligible for line increases and in many cases you would need to ask for it. This may mean a credit check just to make sure no lates are reporting on any other accounts.
