we are a middle class family of 3 my husband and i both work making 80,000.00 a year. we recently went through lay offs over the last 3 years. so we got behind in our credit obligations. we are both currently employed for 1 1/2 years in our professions.we are drowning in calls from creditor wanting there money. we have exausted every possible area for help.we have a mortgage and it is fixed. and we also have equity in it about 20k. but our credit took a big hit over the last couple of years.we are in the mid 400's.all we want to do is get caught up.not extra money in our pockets just cought up. no one will give us a loan and now we have resorted to payday loans to try getting the creditors off our back.our debt is around 15,000.00. where is the help for the middle class.any helpful info please sincerely just trying to get our head above water. kit-kat

You should consolidate your credit card debt with one of those debt consolidation programs. They get the creditors off your back and you gradually pay off your cards. It does damage your credit but if you already have bad credit it couldnt hurt.

i see two options...one is take a second on your houseloan and catch up.....or each of you take a part time work to catch up. stop taking payday loans, it is eating your money up. cut your spending, buy only what is needed, food, clothes, etc...even though no one will give you a loan you should be able to get a second on your house. bottom line work a part time job and use that $$ to get caught up, pay off credit cards and use only one after that for emergencies only... eat at home, will save $$....... good luck to you and i am sure with a little extra work will solve your issues..
