Which is a better (quicker?) way to build a poor credit score: a secured credit card, a short term loan with a cosigner, or a joint credit card?
Better way to build credit score?I would if I were you get a secured visa card through the bank put 300 dollars on it and pay off the balance.. Honestly this is what I want to do right here.. use the card for things I am already going to buy like food, and gas. Save the money that you would have spent and let your bank account just start growing when your check comes in pay off the amount each month do not have a balance on it at all. Each month use your secured card for needs only like food and gas for your vehicle and anything else that is a need not a want. Maybe even a house bill for your electricity anything that you will spend anyways and discipline yourself to put that money in the bank and leave it there this will be a back up in case you can't pay it with your check.. Also budget your money like get caught up and even ahead on all of your bills by at least one month ahead where you can have the money for the next month's bill sitting in the bank. I am going to be doing this when I get my truck payment ahead this month. Split your check up however many bills you have like if you have three big payments like rent, utility bills and a car payment split all of your paychecks up into several different categories. Out of say 400 if you get this much each week you probably make more or less but I am using this as an example take $100 pay yourself this goes to you no matter what. Take another $100 that goes to your car payment, another 100 goes to your rent, Another $100 that will be your utilities.. Do this each week and now you know how much you have to spend and how much you have to keep for yourself. You will have extra by doing this. Each week you are putting a hundred dollars towards all of your bills even if your electricity bill is 60 - 90 dollars see what I mean and you won't have an electricity bill but only one time a month but you are still putting ahead this way your light bill would be paid four months ahead if you do it the right way and your car payment like mine might be only $300 I don't know if you even have a car payment but you could be saving for a down payment on one with my method. My method will give you an extra hundred a month towards a new car or car repairs. your rent might only be 400 -600 my share right now is about 400 a month between me and my girlfriend. Best way to build your credit score is by paying on time and being ahead also. Have a little nest egg in the bank at all times and also pay your bills either early or on time at all times. dont ever be late. My problem is I am late on my bills just because Ididn't have the money sometimes to make my truck payments being late is the only thing affecting my credit score and it is terrible right now everything else on my credit report shows that I paid on time or paid things off but then it shows the negative stuff and my truck payment was late and it still affects me to this day. Sorry it was long but I wanted to get it all out here for you. I hope it helps I swear on paper this looks good to me but life does get in the way and it might not be so easy to do but really it is a glimmer of hope if you put all your bills on paper and see how you can split up each check that way you don't overspend and use bill money on food or something else but still you do have to eat no matter what.
