The fact is that you defaulted on the contract and Chrysler is only doing what they are allowed to do under the terms and conditions of the contract.
Unless you come up with the entire balance due, they will sell the car at auction for less then it's worth and you will still be liable for the balance.
This will amount to several thousand dollars and they will take you to court for it. Once this happens they will get a judgment and then they can attach bank accounts, garnish wages (if your State allows it) and file liens on any other property you may own like boats, land and homes.
You have the option to bid on the car yourself when it goes though the auction, so if you can get a loan from some other source, you may be able to get the car back and not owe Chrysler a dime.
