How can you have any pudding if you won't eat your meat?
Stay or go?No - it will not be easier later, just later. You already have big debts and I think you would be better to plough on. Maybe there is a solution and you just need help to find it. If you paretns are not willing to help then speak to the most finance savvy peson you know and see if they can some up with any suggstions. Good luck.
Stay or go?One thing you might consider is that many student loans don't require payments to be made as long as you are a student; however, as soon as you stop being a student, those loans will enter a repayment phase. With thirty thousand in loans, that could be a substantial monthly payment. It's great to be financially independent, but with as much debt as you're carrying, no car, and the possible need to move to another area (you mentioned that where you are is very rural) to find employment opportunities, it's likely to take more than a semester for you to get that way.
You should definitely contact your former school and find out what you need to complete withdrawal there. Since you have not attended classes there this year, those charges may be dropped if you can finish the withdrawal there.
You should also inquire at your school's financial aid office about other forms of financial assistance. There may be grants or scholarships for which you are eligible that would allow you to stay in school without racking up even more loans. Also, see if you can find out why you are not being awarded work-study and if there are other on campus jobs you might be able to work at that don't require a work-study award.
Discuss your options with your parents and find out what would make the most sense for all of you.
