I think that if the govenment invested money in affordable housing for first home buyers where a home and loan could be setup at a lower interest rate, working through the govenment

not through the banks in time the govenment would recoup it investment, and this being for genuine long term first home buyers, it would generate employment in the building sector, and other fields involed in housing, it would show that govenment would be trying to help people who are genuine, and not for those who want to make a quick buck....
