I recently started attending school (3 months ago.. career college.. I learned a hard lesson) I started a Medical Assistant Tech. course and after 2 modules I come to find out that its not what I want to do (I tend to be a bit sqeemish :| and the school is terrible!). I now want to attend ITT tech and persue my A.A. in Multimedia. I took out a loan (w/the CLC) in order to pay for school. Now, my question is..
If I change schools (I believe that the credits aren't transferable IF that has anything to do with this) am I still going to have to pay for the full amount of the loan? or just what's been used up? or what AM I going to have to pay for at this point?
are student loans transferable from one school to another? :( I'm completely lost here.. I need some help! :'(
Question on a College Loan..?In all honesty the best thing for you to do is go talk to a counsellor at the financial aid center at your school. But in my experience with student loans the loan money is given directly to the school for each semester, and if there's extra then the school cuts you a check. So if you're entitled to tuition money back when you withdraw the school itself will send you the money, and then it's your responsibility to notify the lender that you've switched schools. You might need to reapply for your loan, as changes in tuition rates will alter your expected contribution, and possibly change your eligibility for subsidized/unsubsidized loans. Talk to a counsellor, but you'll only need to repay what's been used up to this point.
Question on a College Loan..?student loans are not transferable.. When u get to your new school, tell them u had a loan at the other school and sometimes they can get it sent to them electronically. U may NOT get the same amount. Ur amts will differ based on the cost of school and the formula they use for determining room/board, etc. and each school is different.. GL

Get over the squeamishness and go through with what you started. The school is terrible? Well, I think that's good for you too, it will make you tougher.
No hard feelings Karma, okay, just my opinion.
